SARGENT Governor EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 72 WHEREAS, the Governor's Advisory Council on Transpor- tation was formed and has provided valuable assistance in the development of a system of efficient, modern transportation; and WHEREAS, it is necessary that any modern transportation system be balanced as well as efficient, and that it provide the proper integration between the various transportation modes; and WHEREAS, the construction of any transportation facility must be carried out in such a way as to further area and regional environmental objectives and avoid abuse of vital envrionmental resources; and WHEREAS, the addition of new memers to the said Advisory Council will facilitate the achievement of the afore- stated objectives; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Francis W. Sargent, Governor of the Commonwealth, by virtue of the authority vested in me as supreme executive magistrate, do hereby order that Executive Order No. 57 be hereby amended as follows: 1. By deleting paragraph one and inserting in its place the following:-- 1. There is hereby created a council to be known as the Governor's Advisory Council on Transportation consisting of representatives of the City of Boston, the Massachusetts Aero- nautics commission, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, the Massachusetts Port Authority, the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority, the Metropolitan District Commission, the Department of Community Affairs, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, the Department of Commerce and Development, the Massachusetts Department of Public Works, the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, the Executive Office for Administration and Finance, including such representatives as the Governor may designate to represent the Executive Office. Private representa- tives of all transportation modes may also be invited to partici- pate in the deliberation of the Council as non-members.
