THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT STATE HOUSE, BOSTON EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 84 Whereas, men possessing the necessary mental and physical qualifications for enlistment and service as officers in the Division of State Police, and who were qualified by examination and placed on an eligible list, in accordance with the provisions of G. L., C. 22, S. 9-A, as amended by the Acts of 1939, C. 503, S. 4, and in ac- cordance with the administrative procedure, having been called to render service in the armed forces, and said service having continued beyond their thirtieth birthday, Now, therefore, I, Maurice J. Tobin, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, acting under the provisions of Acts of 1941, C. 719, as amended by Acts of 1943, C. 3, Acts of 1942, C. 13, sections 2 and 3, and all other author- ity vested in me, do hereby issue this order: The provisions of G. L. (Ter. Ed.), C. 22, S. 9-A, as amended, which provide that "after December 1, 1939, no person over thirty years of age shall be enlisted for the first time as an officer of the Division of State Po- lice", are hereby suspended.
