EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 76

    I, Maurice J. Tobin, Governor of the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts, acting under the provisions of Acts
of 1941, Chapter 719, section 7, Acts of 1942, chapter
13, section 2 (2), and section 3, and all other authori-
ty vested in me, do hereby issue this order as a measure
necessary and expedient for meeting the supreme emergency
of the existing state of war between the United States
and any foreign country.

    Executive Order No. 11, promulgated April 25,
1942, is hereby amended by inserting after the paragraph
thereof numbered eight the following paragraph:

	9.  No license, order or permit issued
	    by the Department on or after July
	    25, 1945, under authority of this
	    order, shall take effect until ap-
	    proved in writing by the Governor.

Given at the Executive Chamber in
Boston, this twenty-fifth day of
July, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and forty-five,
and of the Independence of the United
States of America, the one hundred
and seventieth.
