Interlibrary Loan Policy

Purpose

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows patrons to access materials between libraries. ILL is a resource sharing procedure which carries with it the responsibility to lend and the benefit of being able to borrow.

Procedure

Who:

ILL is available to library patrons

How:

Library staff will conduct a reference interview to identify the specific information requested and determine the accurate citation(s).

Time:

As ILL is a priority, interlibrary loan requests will be filled by the lending library the same day or by noon of the following day. Materials will be returned to the lending library within seven days of the receipt of the material or as specified between the borrowing and lending library.

Cost:

Patrons will be charged any fees imposed by the lending libraries.
